The bug spoke to me...what can I say? :)

I guess this proves I can write a verse to go with any picture...LOL

#41 Keep Going Greeting Card

The verse reads: We all have those days when we want to throw up our hands and give up, but we don't. We get up, we dust ourselves off, and we keep going...because we know someone out there believes in us and our abilities.

INSIDE: I Believe In You. Keep Going! You Can Do It!

#40 Heaven's Dew

Allyson's newest photo - taken yesterday after the rain. I also think it looks like dew drops, so I designed an inspirational card of encouragement around the dew theme.

Today the rain is gone and the sun is shining...and it is finally cooler here. THANK THE LORD!

Beautiful little Oreo had a fight with the mud. The mud won.

Our darling little model got in a fight with some mud yesterday after our flooding rains. The mud won. :)

#39 Hey Baby! What's Shakin'?

Got this LOL image of Oreo the other day in a toy car, and a great card idea came to me after seeing the photo. So I changed up the background using one of our blue sky photos and made the second image, then turned it into a fun greeting/note card...a cute way to say HI and touch base with someone. The outside of the card says "Hey Baby!" and the inside says "What's Shakin'?" :)

#37 Life is a Journey, #38 Light, & the girl behind the camera

I thought I'd introduce you to the other photographer behind our camera, my daughter Allyson. Allyson has become quite adept at photographing herself. I've tried to photograph myself and oh my, what a nightmare that was. She has become very skilled at it though, as you can see by these two pictures she took of herself.

I really like this second one with the neat lettering she did. It almost looks like a CD cover to me!

Below are two of Allyson's photographs, both turned into greeting cards. The floral one is titled "Life is a Journey", and the other one is titled simply "Light", but I created a friendship verse for that card. The friendship card is quite personal for me, as I had what I thought was a "true friend" leave me in my darkest moment a year ago. A true friend that doesn't do that should be thanked - which is why I designed the card...for those of you who have friends who stick with you during the dark times.

Jai

Bugs on Steroids!

I don't want to gross anyone out or anything - and no - I'm NOT putting these on cards...(I don't think...LOL)...but I just had to share what I just saw out in the carport. The first photo is a big ugly bug on my CAR TIRE. And get this...he is *dead*. That is just a shell! So I'm sitting here thinking two things: 1) Where are these bugs getting the steroids? They seem to be getting bigger and bigger each year! and 2) Where did his "insides" go? Hmmmm....the things I can sit around here and ponder on my day off.

Now here is photo #2. This guy was sitting there on the carport when I went out. He is about 3" long! I snuck up behind him and shot him. I must have literally shot him, because the third photo is of what I found 10 minutes later when returning to the carport - he was about 5 feet further from where he'd been and upside down!

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled day...hopefully bug-free!

#36 German Shepherd Dog (i.e. MAX!)

I can't believe I've waited this long into this project to put up a good photo of Max. It's very hard to get a good photo of him though, because he's always moving! Allyson managed to get this shot...or maybe I did...we've taken so many photos it's hard to know who got what shot! But she's taken a lot more of Max than me, so it's probably her doings that acquired this photo. :)

You'll see a lot of Max here on Dixie Lane. He rules our corner lot, and the bordering neighbor's yards too (they love it...they have a guard dog and they don't have to feed him...LOL!).

Of course I love all dogs, but one thing I love about this breed is the expression. The German Shepherds are regal, super intelligent, and loyal. And while he may look like a "big bad dog", he has a heart of gold! (except to burglars - those he will eat!) For an 80lb dog, he is incredibly powerful and strong, and I tell Allyson all the time, I shoulda had him 20 years ago, when I could keep up with him!

The most important trait he has is his unconditional love - just like all dogs have. And you know why that is, don't you? DOG is GOD spelled backwards. And that is the thought behind the greeting card design for this photo - dog lovers will appreciate the card, for sure.

Jai
