Miniature Pinscher Dog Design & Tree Frog Design

I Love Tree Frogs Tote Bag

It rained again. Yep. What - we've had about 2 solid weeks of this? So, the studio is once again flooded. Which meant yesterday was a work-upstairs-on-the-computer day. So I created some new designs for you! The first shown here is my "I Love Tree Frogs" pop art design. Shown above on a tote bag, but available on SO MANY MORE cool products in the Love Beat shop, both image-only and with the words. Also available in my Zazzle shop on more cool products.

Miniature Pinscher Modern Wall Clock

And then I created this cool pop art style design featuring a Miniature Pinscher. Also available on so many exciting products, both with and without words. This is a dog I photographed at a vets office...his name is Scrappy and he was just the CUTEST! He made for a fabulous, colorful design for the Min Pin lovers of the world. :)

While I was working on Scrappy's design, my daughter Allyson (who is now LISTING and SELLING her cool jewelry in my Etsy Shop *all by herself*!) comes in with one of the cats and announces to me there is a lizard outside. I'm like "yeah...so?" She informed me I had to come get it...the cats were after it and it had to be rescued. Sigh.

So off I go to try to catch this lizard and take him where the cats can't see him. He was way too fast, and escaped under the lawnmower. I go to move the lawnmower & something crosses my foot. Daughter squeals when I jumped back, saying she hoped it wasn't a snake (I did tell you about the long snake on our house wall a week or so ago, didn't I? *Neighbor Bill had to get it - I do NOT do snakes!*). I pulled the mower back further and it was a HUGE frog that had jumped across my foot. The lizard skee-daddled away, so I got the frog, and took him off to let him go.

Later, I was outside, and there are two of the cats - both staring at something. Lo and behold - *another* frog. Had to rescue that one too.

Right before bed, Allyson says as she looks outside "Mom...um what is that in the yard that Nikko is staring at? It's big and it's looking back at her". Oh my. I open the door and go out with a flashlight, and lo and behold, it was an *armadillo*! It slunk off into the brush - I think it's under Bill's storage buildings. :)

Never a dull moment here. And you wonder why I love to paint animals? They're *everywhere* here...it's my LIFE! :)

Exhausted, the BullDog painting is DONE!

He's done! Finally! I think this is the LONGEST it's ever taken me to finish a painting. Geez. The studio dried out enough from the flooding to where I could work on him today. Isn't his expression just PRICELESS?

The original painting is for sale at GalleryJai.Com as well as note cards and prints. I've also uploaded him to my Etsy shop - it's been so long since I posted there, I almost forgot how to do a listing!

And now, I am truly exhausted myself, so I'm calling it a day. I'll decide in the morning what my next challenge will be!

Fun Fun! Dougal With His Painting!

Dougal the Cairn Terrier loves his painting (as does his Mom!) and he is shown here with his original work of art. Isn't he just the CUTEST?! Prints, cards, and other merchandise featuring Dougal the Cairn Terrier can be found in the GalleryJai online store.

If you're ready to commission a painting of your beloved pet, stop by GalleryJai.Com and read how you can receive a great original painting for a reasonable price.

New Kitten Design Featuring Oreo!

All of Oreo's fans will LOVE this sweet design I created, which features a pop art image of Oreo along with the words Kittens are angels with whiskers. See all of the cool products this design is featured on in my Love Beat shop.

I've also added her design to my Zazzle shop, which has even more of a variety of neat products and t-shirts, like this one:

A cool feature Zazzle has which I *love* is they give the customer the ability to CUSTOMIZE - you can make the image larger or smaller, add text of your own, and more! Visit GalleryJai.Com on Zazzle.

Have your pet's image turned into a custom pop art pet painting and placed on products too! Visit my web page here which describes the process.

What's up in Jai-Land! Custom Pop Art Digital Pet Paintings

The bulldog is still not done. My basement (studio) flooded from all the rain Tennessee has had, and I didn't feel like sitting there with my feet in cold water. It's finally drying out, and I hope to be able to go down there and work this afternoon.

In the meantime, I've been working on my other two projects, Real Cats Wear Pink (for those who like sarcasm, wit, and humor) and Love Beat where you can express to the world what you love most. Through Love Beat, I'm also now offering custom digital art pop art pet portraits on a variety of products! Visit the Love Beat Custom Page to learn more about this service - it's a great way...especially for people on a budget...to get something custom designed featuring their pet(s)!

Here's an example of a custom pop art pet painting on a product:

Bulldog Painting in Progress - getting close!

I've completed some more on Mr. Bulldog. For this in progress photo, I thought I'd share a photo which shows the beginning process of an area, and a comparable finished area - the ears. Notice the left ear - that's how the process begins with the oil pastel...a light base layer. I'll add a little more color to that area, then blend, then add more color, then blend, then add the refining color where necessary. Each area of a painting has at least 3 layers -- some areas have 5-6 layers of color.

I'm done working on him tonight. The dehumidifier is running full force in my wet basement/studio, and it's soooooo hot down there from the warm air it blows out of the back, I can't stand it. It's actually giving me a headache. It's necessary to dry everything out though. Maybe someday I'll sell enough paintings to get the leaking problem fixed, and then I'll be able to work in a little more comfort. That would be wonderful! :) So for now, the bulldog is going to sleep.

Bulldog Painting in Progress - still!

Slowly, but surely, I'm making progress. I *so* feel like this dog looks - EXHAUSTED. In fact, I've definitely decided that's the title of the painting. The nose and mouth are have been the hardest. I'm trying not to pick at it too much, but I see an area I need to darken a bit. That's one great thing about posting these in progress photos...I see my "problem spots". Of course, I know you all like seeing the in progress as well. Back to work...

Real Cats Wear Pink

Been working hard all week on the RealCatsWearPink.Com website, blog, and store. I've got 46 designs up on over 2500 products. Stop by the Real Cats blog and see my two American Idol designs!

Still working on the bulldog painting - in fact, if my studio isn't too flooded from all the rain, I'll be working on it the rest of this afternoon and hopefully have it finished soon. Heading down there now to check out the damage. Oh, and my roof? Still not fixed. Which of course adds to the basement-flooding-during-rain problem. Sigh.
