Kitty Cookin' Up Trouble

I completed this color pencil painting in my big eyed art series this week. How about this sweet little fella? He's cookin' up trouble with his chef's hat on and a bowl of vegetable soup, with the letters that spell...of course...TROUBLE! :) I had so much fun with this illustration!

You can see the in progress photos of Cookin' Up Trouble on my website, as well as purchase the original there if you desire. You also might like the image on the wide variety of gifts in my online gift shop.

As always, thanks for stopping in and for sharing my art with others, too!

New Kitten Painting ~ New Color Splash Photos

I know I haven't posted much lately...Last week was horrible. My father went in for a "repair" surgery and suffered a massive heart attack. He actually died twice, but they were able to revive him. There appears to be no brain damage, which is wonderful, and he has been coming around very well. He's still in ICU, however, and the nurse today told me he had kind of a rough day. And today is his birthday. He is 70. She said they were going to have a party for him. I sure wish I could be there...he's in Colorado Springs and I'm stuck here in the 100+ degree TN heat with no way to be able to go. :( So I've been rather upset.

Like always, however, I try to take my mind of things I can't control by delving into my creative works. I have completed a couple of new photos in my Color Splash series, both shown here.

"The Monarch" (butterfly), and "On a Wire", which features a bluebird.

I've also managed to complete a new digital oil painting of Molly, one of our kittens. I paired her with the same butterfly in the first photo and titled it "Me and My Monarch".

The kittens and their mom are being spayed/neutered on July 5, and will also have their shots. After that, they will all be ready to go to new homes. You can see their photos in this facebook album. Please email me if one of them captures your heart - I'd be happy to reserve him/her for you and your family!

Kitten Portrait | Head Study Painting

I didn't have much time to paint yesterday as I had to work and then we had tornadoes coming through the area all afternoon! By the time the sirens and storms were done, I had a massive migraine headache. :(

Anyway, I did paint this quick head study of our kitten Oreo yesterday. I hope you like it! The painting is available on a wide variety of gifts and cards.

New Kitten Design Featuring Oreo!

All of Oreo's fans will LOVE this sweet design I created, which features a pop art image of Oreo along with the words Kittens are angels with whiskers. See all of the cool products this design is featured on in my Love Beat shop.

I've also added her design to my Zazzle shop, which has even more of a variety of neat products and t-shirts, like this one:

A cool feature Zazzle has which I *love* is they give the customer the ability to CUSTOMIZE - you can make the image larger or smaller, add text of your own, and more! Visit GalleryJai.Com on Zazzle.

Have your pet's image turned into a custom pop art pet painting and placed on products too! Visit my web page here which describes the process.

Candid Kitten: Tennis Time!

I love tennis.

But I hate it when I lose! I get really angry!

My turn, my turn! No it's not, it's MINE!

Got it! I got it! WHAM!

Wheeeeeeee!!!

Watch this, Rowdy, I can bounce the ball off my nose.

Atta boy, hit it back...I got it, I got it!

Phew, this tennis is darn good exercise! Think I'll give Rowdy a turn now.

See my fancy footwork? Bet Oreo can't do this!

And here's my tennis pro look...just call me Mr. Intense.
With fancy footwork,of course. :)

Try The ABUSER as an ADULT

Let's Get Justice for Dusty!

Exhausted
Print Available here.

How could *anyone* abuse something so sweet as what's pictured above? Well that's exactly what this kid -a.k.a a lot of other things I'd like to call him but won't- did. See for yourself...go here to read and sign the petition about how this kid abused the family cat and posted video's on youtube. He apparently even has a website - which I will not go to, nor will I mention his name on my blog because he doesn't deserve it. What he DOES deserve is a good beating himself and I imagine from the looks of the signatures hitting this petition, there's a lot of people out there who would love to stone him or worse.

I honestly can say, right now, he's lucky there is a legal system in place and that the majority of the people in this country DO abide by the law, because if not, he'd probably already be beaten - or worse, he'd be dead.

This kid has no right to be on the streets, and never, ever should be allowed in the presence of an animal...unless it's one who can take HIM on (like to see what my Max would do with him). He needs some serious counseling while he sits in jail and hopefully will sit there as an ADULT. Sign the petition - help bring this animal abuser to justice!

Jewelry Lessons, One Irritated Cat, and One Sad Dog

I know, I've been really lax in posting. I've been getting ready for my jewelry show which opens March 1, 2009 at http://www.artjewelryshow.com. Thanks to Allyson, I have a few new photos to post!

Here's Oreo, checking out Mom's semi-finalist winning entry on http://www.jewelrylessons.com. My heart necklace Revelation became a semi-finalist in the 2009 Valentine's Day contest. Oreo has decided she likes this website, and she might even want to take some jewelry lessons herself. I'm *sure* she would do wonders with wire and beads...:)

Nikko, on the other hand, is really irritated with the cold weather and high winds. Here she is, sitting on the neighbor's roof, trying to get as close to the sun as possible. Check out that look on her face! NOT HAPPY!

And here is Max...giving the ole German Shepherd pout he's famous for. He is tired of all the attention these kitties get, and with one in the house *at the computer with mom*, it just did him in. Poor Max....:(

Big Snow for a little cat

It might not be big snow to you...but for a little cat and her first snow, it's big enough! Check out Oreo's little stroll through the white stuff this afternoon....

P.S. I don't think she sees the fun in it like Max does. :)

Snow day for the crew!

We *finally* got some snow here in TN. Here's some photos of the crew:

This is the 1st snow for the kittens. They walked in it, looked at it strangely, shook their paws off and went back to bed. Here's Mom and the girls, huddled under the heat lamp all together, looking less than thrilled with the white stuff and colder temps.

And then I let Max out. The fun begins:

Wow...this is fun!

Do I look older and more distinguished with my white moustache?

C'mon Allyson, throw that snowball! I'm ready!

Where'd it go?

I can't find it in all this white stuff!

It's got to be in here SOMEWHERE....

Well I'll just make a new snowball!

This stuff is cold on the feet! Gotta keep moving!

Found me a good stick...
'll just run with that instead of fooling with those disappearing snow balls!

In the beginning....

In the beginning...they were small. So cute...this is the first photo ever made of Oreo, Nikko and Rowdy, on the first day I saw them. They were so scared of us, and they hid behind our grill. I had to sit outside for about 15 minutes in total silence - camera poised - and they finally eased out, one by one, and sat under the grill. Click. Gotcha! (of course Rowdy was moving...what else is new?)

After numerous bags of cat chow, treats, numerous bugs and moths, a few captured birds, moles and one squirrel, they grew. And grew. And grew some more.

LOOK AT US NOW!
